Shellharbour City Council conducts citizenship ceremonies throughout the year. These are conducted to coincide with Australia Day (26 January) and Australian Citizenship Day (September) as well as at other times as required. The Australia Day ceremony is held as part of Council's annual Breakfast by the Lake. Under special circumstances private ceremonies may be conducted at other times throughout the year.
